Who is Technicolor?
Born in 1986, Technicolor is Greek DJ/producer – Gianni Vercetti Balopitas.
How did this whole music thing start?
I was always fascinated by synthesizers and the 80′s era sounds/images. Around 1991
I received a CASIO synth as a birthday present and that was the start.
What inspires you?
I am huge fan of 80′s Italian Horror/Zombie/Exploitation films and their soundtracks, especially the late ones with electronic scores. That’s the atmosphere I try to recreate in my tracks. The movie soundtrack element is always strong in my works.
What do you love to play the most?
Mainly electro and some really good techno tracks. Melodies have returned
nowadays, techno and its like the good old times again.
How long have you been DJing / producing for?
Hmmmm….I think i started DJing 5-6 years ago…just for fun though…you know, home parties or small bars, nothing really huge, but I realised it was fun and money worth. As for production I started in 2003 with just a PC and some vst synths. Now I’m looking into buying some analog stuff to “catch” that vintage warm sound that no virtual synthesizer can create.
What are you working on currently?
I’m trying to finish some tracks for live appearances.
What do you listen to when you want to relax?
I never relax, remember I sent you this track at 5:30 in the morning :)
Who are your hereo’s?
I will answer with a question: Where the hell does Optimus Prime’s trailer go when he transforms from truck to a robot?
Who would you kill to see play?
The guy who made the Indian version of the late MJ’s “Thriller”.
Do you watch TV?
Its pure lobotomy these days so, no. It used to be fun though, a long time ago.
Do you sing in the shower?
You need a brush as a microphone… Isn’t that girlie stuff?

Anything spicy as hell.
