What are you doing right now?
It Monday evening, so not too much :-) Well I’m doing this interview and I’m enjoying the fact that my EP on Sleazy Beats Black Ops is released today!
How did this whole music thing start for you?
I always loved music! From old tapes and records that my parents played to Kwassa Kwassa, Gabber, Steve Reich, Philip Glass, Ethiopian Funk, MFSB, Wild Beasts, Erik Satie, Vakula, Session Victim and so on! The music making thing started quite some years ago with a keyboard and a shitty computer… My studio looks a bit better now though.
What sound or noise do you love?
My alarm clock, it’s the best
What’s been on repeat lately?
Out of your body of work what is your favorite track and why?
That would be “Bohicon Funk”. It’s a different sounding track that switches from African influenced music to deeper house music… I lived in Bohicon (a small village in Benin, Western Africa) for a couple of years, so it’s nice to combine my passion (which is obviously music) with a place in the world that influenced me.
What are you currently working on?
I’m working on another EP for Sleazy Beats Black Ops and a couple of edits that should see daylight later this year. Besides that I have a little side project that should be released in September. And I’m always trying to make new stuff and sounds. Oh and I’m looking for someone to repair my Pearl Syncussion, as it died a couple of days ago… :(
Any dream (remixing) collaborations you’d like to take on?
Too many to name actually, but the Wild Beasts would be really cool!
What’s the one thing you can’t live without?
My Pearl Syncussion!
What is your vital daily ritual?
That’s a hard one, I just love my cigarettes.
Very stupid but that would be nos.nl a Dutch news and sports site, thenumber20.com and soundcloud.com are cool too!
