Toro Y Moi – Saturday Love
Drop Out Orchestra – Baby Come Home (Rocco Raimundo Version)
Look who jumped on board The Number 20 for a quick chat… Get Drop Out Orchestra on our yacht! School might not have been a priority but what a result! We’ve been following Drop Out Orchestra for quite awhile now and the talent that oozes out never ceases to amaze us. We are super happy to have had the opportunity to find out a little bit more, we hope you enjoy it too!
Craig David – Walking Away (Get Craig David off my yacht! Rework by Drop Out Orchestra)
What’s the story behind your name?
There is no real story. I’m a dropout, I have my own orchestra.
How did you start getting into producing your own music?
I started making industrial stuff and synth pop in the 80s and have naturally progressed from there to here.
How would you describe your sound?
Dubby party music.
What are you currently working on?
Oh we’re always working on edits, remixes and originals. Right now we’re remixing Swedish pop band The Ark.
Name three of your favorite records old or new?
What’s on your radar right now?
Tv series and whiskey.
What’s at the top of your shit list?
Dumb, formulaic big-room house music. That and nuclear power.
What turns you on?
A quiet lunch.
What advice should you have taken, but did not?
Any dream remixing collaborations you’d like to take on?
Oh… too many to mention. It would be real nice if some big shot pop star asked – and paid us to remix something for them.
How do you see today’s music scene in Sweden?
We were lucky last year, we got a couple of cool gigs in Sweden, we got to meet a crowd I didn’t think existed in this country.
What’s on repeat this week?
The Soul Clap essential mix.
SoundCloud. Gotta love it.
